Egypt purchased 410 thou. t of Black Sea wheat cheaper from previous tender

The Egyptian national buyer GASC purchased 410 thou. t of Black Sea wheat on Aug 5 during the 8th tender for the new season, Agritel reports.
Specifically, the GASC bought 295 thou. t sourced from Russia and 115 thou. t from Ukraine.
"The average FOB basis price is of 212.8 USD/t, i.e. -2.6 USD/t below the average price contracted in the previous tender," the message reads.
GAFTA president Swithun Still wrote in Twitter that Egypt had made procurement for Sep 21-30 shipment from the following companies:
- Inerco Trade, a Kernel subsidiary: 55 thou. t of Ukrainian wheat at 213 $/t and $14.95 of freight from Chernomorsk, 227.95 $/t C&F
- Louis Dreyfus Company Ukraine: 60 thou. t of Ukrainian wheat at 213.3 $/t and $13.63 of freight from Odesa, 226.93 $/t C&F
- Solaris: 60 thou. t of Russian wheat at 212.1 $/t and $13.55 of freight from Novorossiysk, 225.65 $/t C&F and 55 thou. t at 212.1 $/t and $14.56 of freight from Taman, 226.66 $/t C&F
- Grain Export: 60 thou. t of Russian wheat at 213.65 $/t and $13.55 of freight from Novorossiysk, 227.2 $/t C&F
For Sep 11-20 loading period:
- Solaris: 60 thou. t of Russian wheat at 212.1 $/t and $13.55 of freight from Novorossiysk, 225.65 $/t C&F
- Posco: 60 thou. t of Russian wheat at 213.35 $/t and $13.55 of freight from Novorossiysk, 226.9 $/t C&F
Previously reported that since the start of 2020/21, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine has reached 2.96 mln t. Wheat shipment as of Aug 5 stood at 1.46 mln t, 47 thou. t or 3% more y-o-y.
