First thousand tons of sugar produced in Ukraine

As of September 8, beet sugar production in Ukraine amounted to 1.05 thou. t. Sugar beet processing totals 17.4 thou. t so far, the National Association of Sugar Producers of Ukraine (Ukrsugar) reports.

Plants operating in the 2020/21(September-August) sugar production season (by launch date):

• Sep. 5 – Radekhiv Sugar (Radekhiv Sugar Plant), Lviv region.

Under the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 project, sugar beet area in Ukraine in 2020 totals 209.01 thou. ha.

As a reminder, Radekhiv Sugar is the first sugar refinery to start new harvest sugar beet processing in 2020.
