USDA cut its estimate for sunflower production in Ukraine

Sunflower seed production in Ukraine in 2020/21(September-August) is forecasted by USDA at 17 mln t, 0.5 mln t lower from the August estimate.

The production of sunflower oil was also cut to 7.22 mln t, sunflower meal to 6.94 mln t.

Experts note that the world sunflower production is expected at 54.02 mln t vs. the previous forecast's 55.8 mln t. Sunflower meal output in 2020/21 should stand at 22.42 mln t vs. 22.54 mln t in 2019/20. The August estimate of sunflower oil production is 0.34 mln t higher from the latest report's data — 20.96 mln t.

Previously reported that vegetable oils export from Ukraine in the 2019/20 season is estimated at USD 5.28 bln, 16.9% higher from the prior season.
