Three regions in Ukraine started sugar beet harvesting

As of September 24, sugar beet harvesting in Ukraine progressed to 242 thou. t on 5 thou. ha, which accounts for 2% of the planned areas.

The crop yields 48.21 t/ha on average, the data of the Harvest Online 2020 project show.

Three regions have started the new crop campaign:

  1. Lviv: 94.9 thou. t on 1.7 thou. ha using the average yield of 55.89 t/ha
  2. Rivne: 78.5 thou. t on 1.96 thou. ha, 40.1 t/ha
  3. Ternopil: 68.4 thou. t on 1.36 thou. ha, 50.2 t/ha

It is although reported by Ukrsugar that beet sugar processing by 12 plants in eight regions of the country as of September 28 reached 548.9 thou. t.

Under the data of the Sowing Online 2019/20 project, sugar beet area in Ukraine in 2020 totals 209.01 thou. ha.
