First refined sunflower oil loaded tanker sailed off from Ukraine to the US
The first in the current season tanker loaded with refined sunflower oil sailed off from the port of Mykolaiv in Ukraine on September 26. The vessel will reach the port of destination in the US in a month, Ukrainian Shipping Magazine (USM) reports.
"The tanker was fully loaded with Bunge cargo from a barge of the company United Barge. A shipment of 5 thou. t of sunflower oil was delivered from the Bunge oil crushing plant in Dnipro by the river. The motor transport was not involved: oil was shipped directly from the production facility to the buyer exclusively by water," the message reads.
As reported, this is not the first shipment of the kind: in June of the current year, the same very tanker, Chemical Master, made a delivery of cargo on the route Mykolaiv-New Orleans.
"It was a special voyage for United Barge as the newly purchased by the company tanker, UBC Filatov, participated in the loading process. The tanker runs under the flag of Ukraine," USM adds.
As a reminder, Ukraine is the key supplier of sunflower oil to the EU in July-September of the 2020/21 marketing year: 93.2% of the total supply or 431.14 thou. t.
