Astarta-Kyiv soybean oil sales down 11% in 9M 2020

Astarta-Kyiv agri-industrial holding cut soybean oil and meal sales in 3Q 2020.

Sales of soybean oil reduced by 11% to 31.44 thou. t. Soybean meal trade lost 17% YoY and stood at 102.15 thou. t. Under the report, sunflower sales remained flat YoY at 51.15 thou. t.

Sugar sales in the reporting period increased by 3% to 247.3 thou. t on the prior year's comparative period (9M19: 239.88 thou. t). The average realized price grew by 1% to 10.152 UAH/t.

Wheat sales climbed 11% from 233.03 thou. t in 9M 2019 to 258.3 thou. t in 9M 2020. Corn sales dropped by 29% from 474.1 thou. t in 9M 2019 to 335.7 thou. t in the reporting period. Barley trading boosted 2.2x to 22.51 thou. t (9M19: 10.2 thou. t).

The average realized price for wheat improved by 19% to 5.24 thou. UAH/t. Barley and corn price reduced by 6 and 3%, respectively, to 4.612 and 4.49 thou. UAH/t.

The dairy segment also demonstrated a reduction. Sales of milk amounted to about 68.18 thou. t, 6% lower from 9M 2019, 72.24 thou. t.

Earlier it was reported that Globyno Processing Plant of Astarta-Kyiv is the second-largest soybean oil producer in Ukraine in the 2019/20 season.
