USDA lowered world wheat ending stocks in December report

World wheat ending stocks projection for 2020/21 was cut by 3.95 mln t to 316.5 mln t in the December USDA report.

According to experts' forecast, the world wheat production is expected at 773.66 mln t, slightly higher on the previous forecast of 772.38 mln t.

Wheat harvest projection for 2020/21 in the key producing countries:

  • Argentina: 18 mln t
  • Australia: 30 mln t, 1.5 mln t
  • Canada: 35.18 mln t, 0.18 mln t
  • EU: 135.8 mln t, 0.75 mln t
  • Russia: 84 mln t, 0.5 mln t
  • Ukraine: 25.5 mln t

As reported, the world wheat export is also expected to increase to 193.65 mln t, 3 mln t higher from the November forecast (190.79 mln t).

As of December 7, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine made up 22.3 mln t.
