India imported 58% of Ukrainian oats so far 2020/21
In July-February 2020/21, oats export from Ukraine approached 13,000 t, 56% higher from the previous season (8,300 t) and 17% higher than in the 2019/20 season (11,100 t), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.
Analysts note that India remains the key importer of Ukrainian oats this season. About 7,500 tonnes of oats were shipped to this market during the reporting period, which is 58% of total exports and 28% higher than in 2019/20 MY (5,800 t).
Morocco is the second-largest importer of Ukrainian origins with a share of 6%, or 809.5 tonnes in physical terms. Germany bought 615.3 t of Ukrainian oats (5% of the total exported volume), having increased imports by 3.6x compared to July-February 2019/20.
"Oats production in Ukraine in 2020/21 is estimated by analysts at 511.3 thou. t, 21% higher YoY (2019/20: 422.0 thou. t). Herewith, the grain export potential is estimated at 20 thou. t (+81%), and it was 65% realized in July-February 2020/21," the report reads.
As a reminder, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine has made up 34.45 mln t since the start of the 2020/21 season.
