Sunflower oil export from Ukraine reached 69% of agreed in MoU volume
As of 22 April, sunflower oil export from Ukraine came to 3.7 mln t which makes up 69% of the agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding volume. The Economy Ministry reports that exporters supplied 37.9 mln t of grains and pulses from Ukraine to foreign markets by 26 April. Wheat shipment stood at 14.8 mln t, corn at 18.4 mln t.
The major grain exporters from the country estimate that by the end of the current marketing year (30 June) staple grains (wheat and corn) export limits will not be exceeded.
"The ultimate situation in grain exports will be clear at the end of May. But considering wheat and corn stocks projected at the end of the marketing year, there will be no upward revision of the Memorandum arrangements," comments Taras Vysotsky, Deputy Minister for Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine.
The Economy Ministry and the Association Ukroilprom agreed on the sunflower oil export ceiling of 5.38 mln t for the 2020/21 (September-August) season.
Previously reported that refined sunflower oil output in Jan-Mar totalled 172.71 thou. t, 27.5% lower YoY.
