USDA forecasts sunflowerseed production 2021/22 in Ukraine 18% higher
In the 2021/22(September 2021–August 2022) season, sunflowerseed production in Ukraine is projected at 16.7 mln t, 2.6 mln t, or 18% higher from 2020/21, the USDA report data reveal.
As a consequence, analysts forecast an increase in sunflowerseed oil production in Ukraine by 18% to 6.99 mln t (2020/21 estimate: 5.934 mln t). Sunflowerseed meal output is expected to reach 6.71 mln t, 1 mln t up YoY.
USDA experts revised upward the world sunflowerseed harvest estimate for the new season to 54.92 mln t, 5.22 mln t higher from 2020/21 estimate of 49.69 mln t. At the same time, the world production of sunflowerseed meal is forecast at 22.56 mln t compared to 20.59 mln t in 2020/21.
World sunflowerseed oil production forecast is set at 21.15 mln t, 1.96 mln t above the expected 19.19 mln t in 2020/21.
