Milk outturn in Jan-Apr cut back by 5%

Milk production in Ukraine reduced by 5.1% YoY to 2.51 mln t in January-April 2021 (4M 2020: 2.66 mln t), the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine indicate.

Dairy farms reduced milk production in the reporting period by 0.4% to 901.9 thou. t vs. 905.6 thou. t in 4M 2020.

Households cut the outturn by 7.6% to 1.61 mln t (4M 2020: 1.75 mln t).

Dairy cattle enterprises produced 878.5 thou. t of milk in Jan-Apr 2021, 0.8% up from Jan-Apr 2020.

Top 5 cattle milk production regions in Ukraine in 4M 2021:

• Poltava: 129.3 thou. t
• Cherkasy: 95.4 thou. t
• Kharkiv: 80.3 thou. t
• Chernihiv: 75.2 thou. t
• Kyiv: 72.4 thou. t

Previously reported that 25 dairy companies in Ukraine passed the audit for the export to the EU. Since the start of 2021, Ukrainian dairy producers have been authorised for exports to five new markets.
