West African country opened up its market for Ukrainian chicken meat and products

The Republic of Liberia, a West African country, has opened its market to Ukrainian producers of poultry meat and products, the SSUFSCP(The State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection) reports.

The relevant certificate form has been approved by the competent authorities of the two countries.

"For a long time, African countries were out of Ukraine's foreign policy focus, unfortunately. These are great new opportunities, including for Ukrainian exporters. We are already unlocking these opportunities with actual steps," Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba says.

He stressed that the Foreign Ministry in cooperation with the SSUFSCP has opened the Liberian market to Ukrainian producers of poultry meat and products. This will increase exports of food products with high added value.

"Each new market means new opportunities and prospects for Ukrainian producers. Liberia, like other African countries, presents possibilities for Ukrainian business," marks Vladyslava Magaletska, head of the SSUFSCP.

In January-April 2021, Ukraine restored its position in the top 3 poultry meat exporters to the EU.
