Refined sunflower oil outturn in Ukraine cut back by a third in Jan-May

In the period January-May 2021, crushing plants in Ukraine produced 283.54 thou. t of refined sunflower oil, the State Statistics Service figures show.

Refined sunoil production in the reporting period is 31% lower YoY (Jan-May 2020: 411.2 thou. t). In May, refined sunflower oil outturn made up 54.2 thou. t, 33.6% lower YoY (May 2020: 81.6 thou. t).

Statistics show that refined sunflower oil stocks at processing enterprises as of the end of May amounted to 24.5 thou. t, 17.9% up from April (29.84 thou. t).

Sunflower production 2020 in Ukraine was finalized at 13.1 mln t on 6.4 mln ha, the average yield stood at 2.06 t/ha.

In May, crude sunflower oil production in Ukraine dropped by 43.4% YoY. Traders informed that some crushing plants completed the season earlier than usual.
