Sunflowerseed oil output in Ukraine climbs 24% in 2021/22: Ukroilprom
In the 2021/22(September-August) season, the production of vegetable oils in Ukraine will go through a massive sunflowerseed oil production increase, more than 24%, the Association Ukroilprom forecasts.
As per the data of the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, a decrease in sunflower oil production by 13.5% YoY was observed in September-October 2021/22.
"This is explained by the weak sales of sunflowerseeds by agricultural producers while expecting higher prices for this raw material, which is confirmed by a significant increase in stocks of sunflower producers and the reduction of sunflowerseed oil exports during this period by 14.2%," the message reads.
Herewith the stocks of sunflowerseed oil at the processing enterprises exceeded 138 thou. t, which accounts for more than 34% of the domestic annual consumption.
"The price situation on the domestic market is stable, the demands of the retail network are fully met, sunflowerseed oil is available in a wide assortment," the association experts comment.
Reportedly, in September-October, the production of soybean oil and meal surged by 14.7% and 21.7%, respectively. Rapeseed oil production in July-October 2021/22(July-June) increased markedly, by 59.1%.
