The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has made changes to the composition of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia (UZ). The government has extended the term of office of Ukrzaliznytsia's Chairman Alexander Kamyshin until 31 March 2022, the Cabinet's order of 23 December reads.

The Cabinet of Ministers authorized State Secretary of the Ministry of Infrastructure Andriy Pochtarev to sign a contract with the chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia, Alexander Kamyshin. For his part, he will also sign contracts with Ukrzaliznytsia's board members.

The CTS publication earlier wrote that the UZ Board Chairman Alexander Kamyshin worked with no contract signed. Besides, no payment was accrued or made for the period of his service.

Alexander Kamyshin, in an interview with NV, stressed that it made no difference to him since one of his predecessors had a three-year contract yet had worked for six months. Another person had no contract at all, and he worked two five-month terms.

"Thus, my attitude towards UZ does not depend on whether there is a contract or not. I am guided in my actions by a long-term vision. At the moment, we are planning for three years, as it is impossible to do otherwise in infrastructure. I am excited to assemble a team at UZ that knows how to build. We dig deep into the project documentation dated a decade ago, make adjustments to the projects and start construction," Alexander Kamyshin explained in an interview.

As a reminder, in late October Alexander Kamyshin was reappointed the Chairman of UZ by end of 2021.
