Big Odesa and Danube ports provided for 3.3 mln t of grain export from Ukraine in August

In August, 1.72 mln t of agricultural products were shipped from the ports of Odesa, Chernomorsk and Pivdenny. A total of 68 ships departed the unblocked ports of Big Odesa in August, with destination ports located in 18 countries, the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine informs.

In this period, from the Danube ports almost 1.6 mln t was exported, by rail — about 1 mln t, and by road — more than 600 thou. t of agricultural products. Thus, a total of 3.3 mln t of agricultural products were exported from the ports of Big Odesa and Ukrainian ports on the Danube in August.

"In September, we expect to reach no less than 3 mln t of transshipment in the unblocked seaports. By all means of transport we plan to export a minimum of 8 mln t," the MoI says in a statement.

As of September 2, 68 ships departed Ukrainian seaports in the framework of the grain initiative. From August 1 to September 2, 67 vessels called for loading.

Exports by port:

  • Chornomorsk: 848 thou. t, 36 vessels loaded
  • Pivdenny: 459 thou. t, 13 vessels
  • Odesa: 419 thou. t, 19 vessels

As of August 29, 2022/23 grains export from Ukraine totalled 3.621 mln t.
