Grain export 2022/23: August shipments approach 2 mln t

Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2022/23(1 July 2022-30 June 2023) season has come to 3.621 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of August 29 dropped by 4.017 mln t, 53% down YoY.

Maritime ports of Ukraine were blocked by russia since February 24, 2022, the day this country started a full-scale war against Ukraine, until on 22 July a grain deal was signed in Turkey.

As of August 25, early crops harvesting in Ukraine was completed on 6.6 mln ha (59% of the proj. areas).
Producers collected 25.3 mln t of new crop grain:
- wheat: 18.8 mln t, 4.08 t/ha
- barley: 5.5 mln t, 3.46 t/ha
- rapeseed: 3.1 mln t, 2.84 t/ha
- peas: 246.1 thou. t, 2.26 t/ha
- millet: 9.1 thou. t, 2.19 t/ha
