A morning missile attack on Saturday, 20 December, damaged the Allseeds vegetable oil transshipment terminal, resulting in the loss of thousands of tons of sunflower oil. The company reported the incident on its Facebook page, although the post was later deleted.
According to preliminary information, the strike triggered large-scale fires on the terminal’s premises, destroying oil stocks and damaging infrastructure. Emergency services were deployed at the site.
At least one person was killed, and two others were injured. The final assessment of losses is still ongoing.
“The largest vegetable oil terminal in Ukraine, Allseeds Black Sea, was attacked early on Saturday,” Allseeds Trading Director Cornelis Vrins told AFP, adding that one employee was killed and two were wounded.
In a comment to Swiss media outlet ATS, Vrins said that “our facilities at the port of Pivdennyi were targeted last week, last night, and again this morning.” He noted that the company is not insured against such risks.
“Insurance companies avoid covering threats of this kind. At the same time, this is already the eighth attack since the start of the war,” Vrins stressed.
