Astarta-Kyiv started the production season 2018
The agri-industrial holding Astarta-Kyiv carried out the spring top dressing of winter crops on 40% of the sowing areas, the company informed.
In general, the company has about 54 thou. ha of winter crops, which are currently in a good condition.
"Spring field works started in early March, despite the cold weather. A few weeks later the spring sowing campaign will begin. Traditionally, the main crops in the crop rotation are wheat, sugar beet, corn, and soybean. Sugar beet sowing area remains at the level of the previous year; areas under corn and sunflower are planned to be increased," the company informs.
By pursuing the investment projects for technical and IT support, Astarta builds its own integrated management system for agricultural production. Also, the technologies of differentiated application of fertilizers, irrigation of fields, GPS tracking of machinery and aggregates, centralization of fuel accounting and logistics of plant protection products (PPP) work to increase the efficiency.
In addition, among the significant projects of the year is the revitalization of the subsidiary Astarta-Selection, which concentrated the following high-tech projects of the agri-industrial holding:
- seed production of wheat and soybean;
- field studies;
- seed and soil laboratories.
The development of this direction is important not only for the internal needs of the holding, but also as a promising business project.
It is noted that preparations for the next season are also initiated at the sugar plants of Astarta, i.e. scheduled repairs of equipment and premises, phased implementation of investment projects.
The key investments in this segment are aimed at the construction of a new warehouse for bulk storage of sugar (Narkevichi sugar plant), the creation of a water-treatment plant (connecting the Globino sugar plant, the bioenergy complex and the Globino soybean processing plant), the installation of new pulp presses at several plants.
