Grain export 2019/20: first million tons shipped

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine exported 1 million tons of grain and leguminous crops. Commodities shipment increased 2.4x (594 thou. tons) from the prior year's comparative period — 415 thou. tons.

In the reporting period, by the data of the Agrarian Ministry grain exported volumes are as follows:

  • wheat —  122 thou. tons (down 27 thou. tons y-o-y);
  • barley — 69 thou. tons (down 141 thou. tons y-o-y);
  • corn — 817 thou. tons (up 582 thou. tons y-o-y).

Rye was not shipped in the indicated period.

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49,74 million tons. This volume is 21 percent (10,37 million tons) higher from the indicator for the last year's comparative period (39,37 million tons).
