Vitaliy Kucherenko, co-owner of the Agroinvestgroup company gone bankrupt in January 2019, apologized to market participants and said that all the necessary supporting documents of noninvolvement in the bankruptcy of the company from a legal point of view would be submitted to the investigation.

Vitaliy Kucherenko made a statement on his Facebook page.

"Above all, with this letter I would like to apologize to each of the defrauded parties by Agroinvestgroup for lost time, trust and money. Having devoted the last 5 years to the agricultural sector, I want to restore my reputation, which suffered from other people's mistakes and negligence. I am ready to provide the investigation with all the evidence of my noninvolvement in the bankruptcy of the company from a legal and any other point of view. I was neither a beneficiary nor a shareholder of the company, but the situation threatened my personal and family safety: I was required to return what I had never owned. I often represented Agroinvestgroup in negotiations, so when people lost money, they first came to me. However, direct extortion by separate individuals prevented effective negotiations and prompt resolution of the problem," wrote Vitaliy Kucherenko.

According to him, the bankruptcy of Agroinvestgroup caused economic damage not only to farmers and companies but also had a significant impact on the investment attractiveness of the [Ukrainian – ed.] market for foreign partners. Therefore, in order to restore the reputation of Ukraine and his name, the former manager announced the readiness to restructure the debts of Agroinvestgroup.

"I realize that the only way to regain my good name is to start with real deeds. Therefore, as soon as I had an opportunity to start negotiations, I began to communicate with farmers, traders and other contractors, voicing to them a proposal to restructure the debts of Agroinvestgroup. Personal professional ethics and rules of life won't let me leave the situation unsolved. I will address every market participant, from farmers to international traders, and try to find common points of cooperation in the issue of debt repayment," summed up Vitaliy Kucherenko.

According to the statement, Vitaliy Kucherenko's team is working on a dialogue with the defrauded parties and jointly elaborates further plans and steps to return debts to Agroinvestgroup partners.

As a reminder, the National Police launched an investigation into the theft of property by Agroinvestgroup officials and filed a search for the owner of Agroinvestgroup Nikolai Kucherenko and his son Vitaliy Kucherenko on suspicion of fraud. Shevchenko District Court of Kyiv (court decision of March 28, 2019) seized the property of Agroinvestgroup in the criminal proceedings which includes the arrest of 322 units of agricultural equipment.

According to the Register of Court Decisions, Quadra Commodities SA, a subsidiary of Suntrade (Bunge Ukraine), Delta Wilmar CIS, Eridon Group, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, TAScombank and Kernel have already filed claims against Agroinvestgroup.
