Eurovneshtorg grain terminal (EVT) in Mykolaiv sea port started handling a new type of vessels — Panamax. In October, two such vessels entered the loading dock. These are the largest bulk carriers in size that the terminal has been receiving since its launch.

At the EVT berth, Panamax was loaded with 47.1 thou. t of food wheat. The deadweight of the vessel is 73.28 thou. t, length — 225 m, width — 32.6 m. The bulk carrier will be loaded in a roadstead involving NIBULON barges until the full draft.

"EVT handled another Panamax in early October. Its deadweight was 80.37 thou. t, length — 229 m, and width — 32 m. One of the loading stages was the transshipment of 2.1 thou. t of corn from the river barges. Additional loading with corn and rapeseed was carried out in Chernomorsk. Then the vessel departed for the port of Ghent (Belgium)," the press release of the company reads.

Before, the largest vessels the EVT grain terminal worked with were Supramax class bulk carriers. The length of the berth allows receiving vessels up to 280 m.
