Bunge subsidiary in Ukraine dominates refined sunflower oil production fourth season in a row

Despite a slight annual decline, Dnipropetrovsk Oil Extraction Plant, Bunge subsidiary in Ukraine, has remained the leader among the producers of refined sunflower oil in Ukraine with a share of 16%, the APK-Inform consultancy informs.

For the fourth season in a row, the company is the leader among the producers of refined sunflower oil in Ukraine.

According to Julia Ivanitskaya, the oil markets analyst at APK-Inform, in 2017/18 Dnipropetrovsk OEP produced a record volume of refined oil — 120 thou. t, thus bringing Bunge Ukraine to the first place in the rating of leading companies in this sector.

"In 2018/19, a number of plants managed to achieve their maximum output of refined sunflower oil, including Poltava Oil Extraction Plant (Kernel), GradOil Refinery, Hydrosend, Kyiv Margarine Plant, Melitopol OEP, Avis, Olis, SunOil, Nizhyn Fat Plant. Also, many companies have produced volumes above their average level, and only some of them have recorded a significant decline," the expert said.

In particular, according to her, the annual reduction at Delta Wilmar CIS plant was 16%, at Optimus Agro Trade (Zaporizhzhya OFP) — 35% making up the minimum volume over the past 13 seasons. Both plants are refining less sunflower oil for the second consecutive season.

Previously reported that in September of the current year vegetable oil production in Ukraine increased 8.8% from the prior year's comparative period.
