Grain export 2019/20: wheat dominates the export structure

Since the start of 2019/20, Ukraine has exported 22.33 mln t of staple grains. As of November 18th, the commodities shipment increased by 5.89 mln t compared to the same period of the previous year, the information and analytical portal of the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine reports.

The grain export structure in the reporting period is as follows:

  • wheat — 12.71 mln t (3.96 mln t more y-o-y);
  • barley — 3.4 mln t (398 thou. t more y-o-y);
  • corn — 5.92 mln t (1.58 mln t more y-o-y);
  • rye — 5 thou. t (60.8 thou. t less y-o-y).

In the 2018/19 season, grain exports from Ukraine reached 49.74 mln t. This volume is 21% (10.37 mln t) higher from the indicator for the 2017/18 comparative period (39.37 mln t).

Ukraine exported 2.9 mln t of wheat, a record volume of the grain for this month, which exceeds the last year’s October exports by 33%.
