Pivdenny port exceeded plan cargo transshipment indicator, grain supported the increase

In November 2019, the seaport of Pivdenny (Odesa region) intensified cargo turnover by 12% or 139.8 thou. t, to 1.32 mln t vs. the corresponding period of the previous year, Ports of Ukraine write.

On the operational data of the state stevedore, the planned indicator of cargo handling is exceeded by 32% or by 320 thou. t.

"The cargo structure hasn't changed, it includes ore, imported coking and steam coal and products of grain processing," the company says in a statement.

As reported, the port transshipped 32 thou. t of grain and grain products.

In January-November 2019, the state stevedore's cargo turnover reached 13.7 mln t, including the handling of export cargo (ore, cast iron, grain and grain products) reached 8.7 mln t (64.1%).

In the week of Nov. 23–29, staple grains shipment in Ukrainian seaports amounted to 1.24 mln t, 7% higher from the previous week's figure (1.17 mln t).
