LANDFORT agricultural holding, a structural division of BKW Group, harvested sunflower bumper crop in 2019 — 2.51 t/ha. This was informed by Chief Agronomist of LANDFORT Aleksandr Ogarenko.
"This year's sunflower crop has fully met our expectations. We harvested a truly record crop since the establishment of the agroholding," said Alexander Ogarenko.
He noted that the year 2019 was largely successful. Despite the nuances of early spring drought, which affected winter crops, rains improved crops condition.
"This season's results are fundamentally different from the previous one's, and apparently, the yields are beyond compare. Last year was very dry and that is why the yield of all crops was the lowest in the history of agroholding," said Aleksandr Ogarenko.
According to him, fairly good financial results of the current year helped LANDFORT to recover from the previous season's poor crop.
"Agroholding's cropping plan will not change much. Sunflower areas will be slightly reduced by increasing the area under winter rapeseed," said the Chief Agronomist of LANDFORT.
In the 2019/20 season, LANDFORT plans to sow 17 thou. ha of winter wheat (2018: 15 thou. ha) and 2.5 thou. ha of winter barley (2018: 1.5 thou. ha).
