President Zelenskiy to sign the law on soybean amendments

By the end of February 2020, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy will sign the Law No. 1210 abolishing the so-called "soybean-rapeseed amendments." This was announced by the Presidential Commissioner for Land Affairs Roman LeshchenkoAgroPolit.com writes.

"By the end of this month (February – ed.), the President will have signed the "soybean amendments act." I would recommend producers not to sell soybeans now but do it in a couple of months, when the law comes into force," he stressed.

According to the Head of the subcommittee on the improvement of the structure of state administration in the sphere of agro-industrial complex of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Agricultural and Land Policy Oleg Tarasov, a number of MPs and he himself proposed an amendment to the Bill No. 2124, which lifted the discriminatory norms stipulated by the so-called soybean-rapeseed amendments.

"It was done so that agrarians could freely sell their products, while the VAT refund will be applicable to all of them," said Oleg Tarasov.

In January, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted in the second reading the draft law No. 1210 abolishing soybean-rapeseed amendments. Its authors are Mykola Solskiy, Oleg Tarasov and others.
