Neptune grain terminal sues tax authorities

The tax dispute between the State Tax Service of Ukraine in Odesa region and the Cargill and MV Cargo grain terminal, Neptune, in the port of Pivdenny, has not been settled, so the company has made a decision to appeal to the court.

"Despite the appeal of the terminal management and authoritative business associations to the ex-head of the State Tax Service of Ukraine Sergey Verlanov with the request to put an end to the pressure on the company with a pure tax history. The State Tax Service did not satisfy the complaint of Neptune on the act of documentary inspection of the terminal," the company notes.

Neptune claims that the State Tax Service of Ukraine refuses to investigate the situation and continues the destructive policy of its colleagues from the territorial administration, namely the practice of "biased attitude" to the activities of the largest investment project in the industry.

"Having exhausted all legal mechanisms of pre-trial settlement of the conflict, we intend to seek a transparent and unbiased consideration of the matter, addressing the Odesa District Administrative Court," the press service says.

Previously reported that the terminal reached 3.5 mln t of cargo turnover since the start of its test operation in June 2019. On Sep. 6, 2019, the grain terminal was officially commissioned.
