Neptune handled 2.5 mln t of ag commodities in 2019/20

The Cargill and MV Cargo grain terminal in the port of Pivdenny (Odesa region), Neptune, handled more than 2.5 mln t of agricultural commodities.

"In this period, the terminal received 54 vessels, of which more than 70% were large-capacity. In the 2019/20 season, the terminal shipped for export mainly corn, wheat and barley. Jubilee 2.5 mln t in late June was loaded onto the bulk carrier Huayang Spirit destined for East Asia," the company says in a statement.

In early February, the terminal reached a record daily cargo handling volume — 41.18 thou. t.

The total storage capacity makes up 290 thou. t. The terminal's designed transshipment capacity is up to 5 mln t per year.

On Sep. 6, 2019, the grain terminal was officially commissioned.
