Early grains harvest to be completed by week's end in Dnipropetrovsk region

Dnipropetrovsk agrarians have already harvested over 2.7 mln t of early grain and leguminous crops. The region has completed more than 94% of the planned fieldwork, Dnipropetrovsk Region State Administration message reads.

"The harvesting campaign in Dnipropetrovsk region started in early July. Since then, producers have covered the area of 726 thou. ha and harvested more than 2.7 mln t of grain. Harvesting is progressing as scheduled. It is planned that the works will be completed as early as this week," said Petro Lashyn, the head of the Economic Development Department.

Harvesting of winter barley (357 thou. t), peas (39 thou. t) and oats (3.6 thou. t) has been finalized.

Winter wheat harvest has reached 1.9 mln t, spring barley 387 thou. t, spring wheat 9.2 thou. t, winter rye 7.3 thou. t and winter rapeseed 275 thou. t.

Harvesting in Dnipropetrovsk region will be conducted on 767 thou. ha.

Previously reported that despite the rainy weather, 24.5 thou. ha of grain and leguminous crops were threshed in Ivano-Frankivsk region as of 27 July, representing 16% of the planned areas.
