Spring wheat yields 27% lower in Vinnytsya region

As of August 4, agricultural enterprises of Vinnytsya region harvested 1.45 mln t of grain and leguminous crops on 313.3 thou. ha or 75.6% of the planned 414.3 thou. ha. Crops yield 4.63 t/ha on average, Vinnytsya Region State Administration reports.

Grains and legumes harvested on the reporting date:

  • winter wheat: 1.16 mln t on 238.5 thou. ha using the avg. yield of 4.84 t/ha, 12.8% lower from last year's 5.55 t/ha
  • spring wheat: 3.2 thou. t on 980 ha, 3.3 t/ha (26.9% lower from last year's 4.51 t/ha)
  • winter rye: 516 t on 210 ha, 2.46 t/ha (11.9% lower from 2.79 t/ha on the reporting date last year)
  • spring barley: 95.1 thou. t on 35.9 thou. ha, 3.62 t/ha (15.4% lower from 4.28 t/ha on the reporting date last year)
  • oats: 207 t on 73 ha, 2.84 t/ha (26% lower from 3.84 t/ha on the reporting date last year)

It is reported that the winter barley harvest was completed in the region using the avg. yield of 4.51 t/ha, 0.55 t/ha lower YoY; peas at 2.87 t/ha, 0.14 t/ha lower; winter rapeseed at 2.87 t/ha, 0.25 t/ha lower.

Winter and spring wheat production in Ukraine as of July 30 stood at 18.3 mln t on 4.78 mln ha or 72% of the planned 6.66 mln ha.
