Ag commodities share in Nika-Tera's cargo handling exceeded 80%

Since the start of 2020, cargo handling by the Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera, a member of Group DF, has exceeded 5 mln t.

"A determining ton was shipped as part of an export consignment of Ukrainian wheat to the ALPINA barge. After loading in the port, the barge set off for the subsequent top-off on roads to Panamax-type vessel BRAVERY. After completing top-off operations on roads, the Panamax with a 63 thou. t lot of wheat will sail to Indonesia," the company says in a statement.

In the structure of cargo handled for the reported period, the share of cereals, pulses and oilseeds, as well as their processing products amounted to 4.09 mln t or 82% of the total cargo turnover, bulk cargo 800.2 thou. t (16%), fertilizers 117.4 thou. t (2%).

As reported, 253 vessels have been handled in the port so far 2020.

"A significant increase in the transshipment of agricultural crops became possible due to the expansion of storage capacities," the message reads.

The SSP Nika-Tera for the first time crossed the five-million mark in cargo turnover in November 2018, which was a record figure at the time.

As a reminder, in the period of January-August 2020, grain dominates the structure of commodity exports from Ukraine.
