Sowing Online 2020/21: winter crops sowing 76% done

As of October 19, agriproducers in Ukraine conducted sowing of winter crops for the harvest 2021 on 6.2 mln ha accounting for 76% of the planned 8.2 mln ha. Within the last week, 1.1 mln ha has been covered.

As provided by the data of the Sowing Online 2020/21 project, planting progress on the reporting date reached the following indicators by crops:

  • wheat: 4.6 mln ha, 76% of the planned 6.1 mln ha
  • barley: 628.3 thou. ha, 66% of 946.3 thou. ha
  • rye: 104.3 thou. ha, 78% of 133.2 thou. ha
  • rapeseed: 829 thou. ha, 82% of 1.01 mln ha

Odesa, Zaporizhzhya and Mykolaiv regions reported the highest sowing pace during a week: 350.6, 127 and 126.7 thou. ha, respectively. Agriproducers of Poltava region have completed winter crops planting on 244.6 thou. ha or 100% of the planned areas.
