Ukraine's Jan-Oct sea port grain exports overstepped 39 mln t

In January-October 2020, port operators in Ukrainian maritime ports handled 132.05 mln t of cargo, 2.2 mln t or 1.7% more YoY, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reports.

Ore and grain cargoes dominate the cargo transshipment structure. In the reporting period, grain cargo accounted for 39.4 mln t of transshipment.

Vegetable oils shipment increased by 4.6% to 5 mln t.

According to the USPA data, export cargo transshipment rose to 101.36 mln t (+3.8%), coastwise to 2.07 mln t (+23.3%); negative dynamics of import cargoes to 19.97 mln to (-5.8%) and transit cargoes to 8.6 mln t (-6.9%).

Previously reported that at the latest grain tender, the Egyptian national buyer GASC bought 300 000 t of wheat sourced from Russia. Ukrainian and Romanian offers were more expensive.
