Sunflower stocks in Ukraine slid 17%

Grains and pulses stocks in Ukraine as of November 1 dropped to 20.4 mln t, 33% or 10.2 mln t lower YoY (30.5 mln t), the data of the State Statistics Service show.

Sunflower reserves stood at 7.2 mln t (Nov 1, 2019: 8.8 mln t) or 17% lower, including 4.1 mln t stored by agricultural producers, and 3.2 mln t at enterprises engaged in storage and processing.

Wheat stocks in the reporting period decreased by 19% to 7.9 mln t. At the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, grain reserves amounted to 2 mln t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 5.9 mln t.

According to statistical data, corn stocks were twice as low as last year's and amounted to 9.9 mln t (Nov 1, 2019: 17.6 mln t), including 5.7 mln t accumulated by agricultural producers, at enterprises engaged in storage and processing 4.2 mln t.

Barley stocks in Ukraine in the reporting period reduced by 32% from last year's and amounted to 1.6 mln t: at the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, stocks of barley amounted to 455 thou. t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 1.17 thou. t.

Rye stocks increased by 97% to 222 thou. t: 95.2 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 126.8 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.

Soybean stocks in Ukraine as of Nov 1, dropped by 37% YoY to 1.4 mln t. On the reporting date last year, soybean stocks totalled 2.2 mln t. Agricultural enterprises stored 898.4 thou. t. Enterprises specializing in processing and storage kept 491.1 thou. t of the oilseed crop.

Rapeseed stocks increased by 15% to 406.3 thou. t (Nov 1, 2019: 353.6 thou. t): 103.4 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 302.9 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.

As of November 19, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 78.5 mln t of main crops on 23.4 mln ha, of which grains and legumes total 60.3 mln t harvested on 14.6 mln ha, making up 95% of the planned areas.
