Nine sea ports in Ukraine blocked amid extreme weather

As of 8 a.m. February 12, 2021, nine Ukrainian sea ports have restricted harbour pilotage and cargo operations, the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA) reports.

Harbour pilotage was cancelled in the ports of Bilhorod-Dnistrovsk and Ust-Dunaisk due to strong wind. Pilotage and cargo operations were halted in Chernomorsk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Olvia, Reni, Kherson and Pivdenny because of strong wind, snow and reduced visibility.

The previously open Bystroye mouth, Bug-Dnipro-Lyman Canal (BDLC) and Kherson Sea Canal (KSC) are now closed due to strong wind.

Sea ports in Ukraine have been restricting their operations since early February.
