January beef export from Ukraine 39% lower YoY

Beef export shipment from Ukraine in January totalled 1.3 thou. t, 39.2% lower YoY (January 2020: 2.14 thou. t), the data of the State Customs Service of Ukraine show.

The dollar value worth of meat exported is USD 4.55 mln, 37% under the previous year's comparative period (January 2020: USD 7.26 mln).

Frozen beef supply in January made up 1.28 thou. t worth USD 4.5 mln. The largest export markets:

  • China: 390.5 t, USD 1.37 mln, 30.46% of the total supply
  • Azerbaijan: 303.19 t, USD 1.06 mln, 23.65%
  • Belarus: 198.6 t, USD 696 thou., 15.49%
  • other countries: 389.72 t, USD 1.37, 30.4%

Fresh or chilled meat shipment summed 19 t worth USD 59 thou. The major importing countries:

  • Belarus: 14.5 t, USD 45 thou., 76.27%
  • Turkey: 2.9 t, USD 9 thou., 15.25%
  • U.A.E.: 1.29 t, USD 4 thou., 6.78%
  • others countries: 0.32 t, USD 1 thou., 1.69%

As of February 1, there was 2.93 mln head of cattle at farms in Ukraine, 5.8% less than in last year's corresponding period. The dairy cattle was 1.68 mln head out of the total, down by 5.5%.
