Harvest Online 2021: sunflower 17% harvested in Ukraine, average yield up

As of 16 September, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 45.7 mln t of new crop grain on 10.4 mln ha, 65% of the projected area. Early grain and leguminous crops yield 4.39 t/ha on average.

Under the data of the project Harvest Online 2021, new crop bulk yield:

  • wheat (winter and spring): 33 mln t on 7.08 mln ha (100% of the total area), using the average yield of 4.65 t/ha
  • barley (winter and spring): 10.19 mln t on 2.47 mln ha (100%), 4.12 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 2.9 mln t on 1.01 mln ha (100%), 2.86 t/ha
  • sunflower: 2.38 mln t on 1.12 mln ha (17%), 2.12 t/ha
  • peas: 581.77 thou. t on 242.6 thou. ha (100%), 2.4 t/ha
  • sugar beet: 506.28 thou. t on 10.61 thou. ha (5%), 47.74 t/ha
  • corn: 406.97 thou. t on 84.8 thou. ha (2%), 4.9 t/ha
  • soybean: 348.55 thou. t on 151.98 thou. ha (12%), 2.29 t/ha
  • millet: 119.83 thou. t on 50.91 thou. ha (65%), 2.35 t/ha
  • buckwheat: 62.57 thou. t on 46.69 thou. ha (56%), 1.34 t/ha

Wheat production in Ukraine in the crop year 2021 is projected at 31.2 mln t, 26% up YoY.

As of September 13, winter grains sowing in Ukraine was completed on 356 thou. ha, 5% of the projected area (7.84 mln ha).

The USDA in its September report left unchanged the projection of wheat production for Ukraine and Russia, same as for corn production, export and ending stocks in Ukraine.
