First million tons of grain shipped by EVT so far 2021/22
A grain export terminal in the Port of Mykolaiv, Eurovneshtorg (EVT), has provided for the transshipment of one million tons of grain since the start of 2021/22(July 2021–June 2022).
The terminal reached this indicator when loading a bulk carrier, Princess Nicole, on 22 September. The cargo vessel running under the flag of Ukraine will then transship the grain onto Panamax Yasa Unity in the outer roadstead of the Port of Mykolaiv (Trutaev Bank).
For context, the terminal loaded its first Panamax in late April 2021.
Since the beginning of the season, the EVT terminal has already handled five large-capacity vessels, including four Panamax and one Supramax. The maximum volume of cargo — 70,000 tons — was shipped by EVT on Panamax Star Planet. The terminal will process two more Panamaxes in September.
With each new season, the EVT terminal passes a million mark earlier, the company management marks. In the season before last, this mark was reached in December, last season — in November. In the 2021/22 marketing year, the milestone was met in less than three months — in September.
"Once again EVT has demonstrated a strong result. The credit for this naturally goes to the entire team. I am proud of our employees, their professionalism, and I give thanks to everyone for their great work. I'm grateful to our clients for entrusting their cargoes to EVT terminal," comments Sergei Gunko, director of the port operator EVT Grain.
Since the season's start, the terminal has processed 64 vessels. Cargo structure:
- wheat: 632 thou. t
- barley: 197 thou. t
- rapeseed: 132 thou. t
- corn: 52 thou. t
- oilseed meal: 2.5 thou. t
Staple grains export from Ukraine as of September 22 totalled 12.12 mln t.
