Cygnet Agrocompany completes spring crops planting 2022, excludes sugar beet

Cygnet Agrocompany has completed spring crops planting campaign 2022. The total area planted is 29 thou. ha in Vinnytsya and Zhytomyr regions.

The company admits that the work in wartime had to be adapted to new conditions and the production technology had to be revised.

"In the early season of spring fieldwork, we had to make significant changes to our plans for planting and growing technologies, taking into account the material resources already available and the possibility of purchasing additional ones," says Yuriy Bordichenko, deputy head of crop production at Cygnet Holding.

The company chose not to plant sugar beet this season. Cygnet reduced the area planted with corn by 40% and more than doubled the area for sunflower and soybean.

"With all the challenges, we followed the planting technology as much as possible. We were fully supplied with seeds. CPPs were partially purchased earlier, during the war it was more difficult to procure them, but still, we managed to do it. Due to the fact that we also changed the structure of planted areas, the engineering service had to finish readjusting the relevant machinery in a very short period of time," says Mykola Zhuravel, Deputy Regional Director for Agriculture at Cygnet-Center.

As of May 6, spring crops planting in Ukraine was completed in 12 regions of the country.
