Grain export 2022/23: cereals shipment down a third by Nov 16

Staple grains export shipment from Ukraine since the start of the 2022/23(1 July 2022-30 June 2023) season has come to 15.566 mln t. As reported by the Agrarian Ministry, commodities shipment as of November 16 dropped by 6.924 mln t, 31% down YoY.

Maritime ports of Ukraine were blocked by russia since February 24, 2022, the day this country started a full-scale war against Ukraine until on 22 July a grain deal was signed in Turkey.

The second phase of the Ukraine grain deal was signed in Istanbul on 17 November. It extends the Black Sea Grain Initiative for another 120 days.

As of November 10, grains harvesting in Ukraine was 76% completed.

Producers collected 27.1 mln t of new crop grain:

  • wheat: 19.2 mln t, 4.1 t/ha
  • barley: 5.6 mln t, 3.51 t/ha
  • rapeseed: 3.2 mln t, 2.89 t/ha
  • peas: 261 thou. t, 2.34 t/ha
  • sunflower: 9.5 mln t, 2.19 t/ha
  • corn: 9.6 mln t, 5.83 t/ha
  • soybean: 3.4 mln t, 2.4 t/ha
