Qortia AG
About
Agricultural trading and logistics company Qortia AG is a Swiss trading and logistics company that specializes in the international agricultural trade, forging connections between global food industry enterprises and consumers worldwide.
The company primarily focuses on procuring grains (such as wheat, corn, soybeans, barley, etc.), oil crops, and processed products from Ukrainian farmers, and exporting these food and feed grains abroad. Leveraging years of experience in logistics, maritime transportation, and the handling of bulk cargo, Qortia AG offers its clients optimal solutions for establishing efficient supply chains. This comprehensive approach, combined with customer-centric values, ensures highly effective collaborations that strike an ideal balance between cost and quality, aiming to fulfil clients' business interests optimally.
The company has a representative office in Odesa. The head office is Zug, Switzerland.
Background
The history of Qortia AG began in 2018 when its future co-owners, Andrii Vetriak and Dmytro Iandovskyi, who had collaborated in logistics and finance for over 15 years, decided to leverage their collective expertise to create their own trading company. They registered Qortia AG in Switzerland, and by 2019, the company had started executing its first grain sales agreements. It was during this period that Qortia AG dispatched its first vessel, the bulk carrier KARTERIA, from Ukraine's most modern and largest port, TIS. In 2023 a new partner, Konstantin Kuflik, joined the company and headed the trading operations.
Today, Qortia AG not only specializes in the wholesale trade of grains and oilseeds but also provides a comprehensive range of services in freight forwarding and logistics management. By procuring grains and oilseeds from small and medium-sized Ukrainian farmers, Qortia AG facilitates new opportunities and access to key global markets for Ukrainian agrarians. The company enjoys successful partnerships with major international buyers across Europe, Asia, and Africa.
Following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the subsequent blockade of Ukraine's major deep-water ports, Qortia AG was among the pioneers in pivoting to river cargo shipments, actively developing the river transportation sector within the Danube cluster. The company has since achieved a market share of approximately 15% in this segment, with a monthly volume of 100,000 tons of grains. Qortia AG remains actively involved in operations within the "Ukrainian corridor," shipping grains through both the ports of Big Odesa and the Danube ports.
Principles
Qortia AG is a socially responsible company that steadfastly upholds its commitments and the highest ethical business standards, underpinned by principles of integrity and synergy. "Our primary focus is on the quality of collaboration. Beyond exporting grains, Qortia AG supports its clients in their production activities. We cooperate with Ukrainian farmers on optimizing crop storage infrastructure on their farms, offer professional advice on constructing silos and warehouses, organize laboratory work, and facilitate the loading of railway wagons and trucks at elevators. We even provide credit when necessary, acknowledging the seasonal specifics of the agricultural business," summarizes Andrii Vetriak, co-owner of Qortia AG.
