Andrii was born in 1981 in Odesa.
Education
He earned multiple higher education degrees from the most prestigious law and economic universities in Ukraine. In 2003, Andrii holds a master’s degree from the Odesa State Economics University and a Ph.D. in Banking.
In 2004, he earned a specialist degree in jurisprudence from the Faculty of Law at the Odesa Mechnikov National University and successfully completed his postgraduate studies, postponing the defence of his doctoral thesis due to his career growth priority.
Career
More than 20 years ago, Andrii began his career at JSCB “Pravex-Bank” as a Manager. There, he was responsible for developing a bank branch, meeting business targets across all areas, hiring and staff training, organizing advertising campaigns in the region.
In 2003, Andrii moved to JSCB “Ukrprombank”, taking the position of Head of the Retail Business Department. There he was not only in charge of retail banking activities and the resources to meet retail banking objectives but also controlled the branch’s operating costs within the budget.
Leveraging his extensive background, Andrii moved to JSCB “SotsComBank” as Vice-Chairman in 2005. He was responsible for overseeing equity offerings, including drafting and structuring materials, and managing logistics, along with identifying issues, analyzing, and resolving them. He also researched and identified new opportunities by formulating and issuing financial reports and creating various business plans.
In 2007, Andrii transitioned into the logistics and transportation sector, beginning his work at TIS, the largest private port in Ukraine. Later on, Andrii Vetriak, as a skilled professional, contributes at TIS LLC as a Board Member. Due to his vast expertise, he is responsible for driving business development for TIS Group’s terminals, including the successful realization of unique projects of new terminals’ construction (berths, warehouses, conveyor galleries and transshipping equipment), risk management, external audit, and business evaluation execution. As a Member of the Board, he also oversees relationships with external stakeholders.
In 2018, Andrii Vetriak, along with his longtime business partner Dmytro Iandovskyi, initiated their own trading and logistics business and registered the company Qortia AG in Switzerland. Today, the company not only specializes in the wholesale trade of grains and oilseeds but also provides a comprehensive range of services in freight forwarding and logistics management. Qortia AG was among the pioneers in pivoting to river cargo shipments, actively developing the river transportation sector within the Danube cluster. The company has since achieved a market share of approximately 15% in this segment, with a monthly volume of 100,000 tons of grains. Qortia AG remains actively involved in operations within the "Ukrainian corridor," shipping grains through both the ports of Big Odesa and the Danube ports.

Principles in business
