Grain Alliance harvested 40 thou. tons of sunflower

Grain Alliance finalized sunflower harvesting in all regions having cropped more than 40 thou. tons of the oilseed culture.

“The campaign was carried out as scheduled, there were no special delays. We have a higher yield than last year. The average productivity in the company is more than 3 tons per hectare,” commented Andrei Lukyanenko, Grain Alliance COO.

The culture was sown in four regions of Ukraine — Kyiv, Poltava, Chernihiv and Cherkasy.

Harvesting of late crops continues, soybean and corn are currently harvested. Soybean is threshed on more than 90% of the area. The average productivity is 3 t/ha. Corn is harvested on more than 20% of the planted areas.

“According to forecasts, the average corn productivity will exceed 10 t/ha,” said Andrei Lukyanenko.

Previously it was reported that the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine had again revised the crop 2018 estimate upwards — the expected volume of grain production is at 64 million tons.
