Saudi Arabia lifted temporary ban on cattle import from Ukraine

The Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has lifted the temporary ban imposed on importing live sheep (lamb and goat) and cattle, for breeding or slaughtering, from Ukraine.

The General Director of the Department of Animal Risk Assessment, Dr. Sanad AlHarbi, said that lifting the import ban was based on the report received from the Saudi technical team that visited Ukraine and recommended lifting the ban according to the special requirements of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE).

Previously it was reported that in July-September of MY2018/19 Ukraine exported 62% of the total volume of barley exports to Saudi Arabia.
