Cargo turnover by the Sea Specialized Port Nika-Tera, a structural division of Group DF, amounted to 1.87 mln t in Q1 2020, 1.5% higher YoY.

In the first three months of 2020, the port handled 85 ships, including 2 dry cargo ships with loading on the raid, and 4 tankers with sunflower oil, the company says.

Grains, legumes and oilseeds remain predominant in the cargo turnover structure, accounting for 65% of the quarterly transshipment volume, or 1.22 mln t. Bulk cargoes amounted to 14% or 0.27 mln t, meal 17% (0.32 mln t), and vegetable oil 4% (0.07 mln t).

"Despite the non-standard situation and a number of limitations associated with coronavirus infection in the country and the world, our port is demonstrating the positive dynamics of cargo turnover growth. The company operates in the normal mode, fulfilling its obligations to partners, contractors, personnel and the state in full," commented head of the port Alim Agakishiev.

As a reminder, in the week of Mar. 28 – Apr. 3, staple grains shipment in Ukrainian seaports amounted to 1.02 mln t, 21% higher wk/wk.
