MHP donated UAH 84 mln to aid COVID-19 relief

More than UAH 19 mln have been raised in the framework of the "Cherkasy Joint Effort: Fight COVID-19" project. Funds were used to supply a number of health care institutions in the region with personal protective equipment and required facilities, Cherkasy Region State Administration (RSA) reports.

According to the head of Cherkasy RSA Roman Bondar, the MHP agro-industrial holding is one of the most active participants of the project. To fight the pandemic, the agricultural holding has allocated in total UAH 84 mln, of which UAH 55 mln was transferred to the national fund, another 15 and 14 mln was allocated for the needs of Vinnytsya and Cherkasy regions, respectively.

"The platform created is a prime example of how the government, business and society can effectively cooperate for a result," commented Ruslan Ponomarenko, coordinator of the Cherkasy Regional Headquarters for Combating Coronavirus Infection at the MHP.

Director of the Charity Fund "MHP to Community" Tetyana Volochay said that a large team worked on various processes of "Cherkasy Joint Effort": more than 50 employees of the fund were involved, four MHP enterprises in the region and the headquarters of the agricultural holding in Ukraine.
