Ukraine's August sea port grain exports doubled on July

Sea port staple grains export shipment from Ukraine in August totalled 5.49 mln t, which is twice as high as the July export volume (2.53 mln t, as provided by the figures updated), the APK-Inform consultancy reports.

Wheat export shipment in the reporting period increased 3x to 4.08 mln t from June's 1.35 mln t. Shipment of barley upsized 30.6% to 1.24 mln t. Corn trade slid by 27% and amounted to 164 thou. t.

The top three importers of grain in the reporting period are as followed:

  • Indonesia: 667.8 thou. t of wheat
  • China: 823.4 thou. t of barley and 101.1 thou. t of corn

Based on the current data from the ports, the port of Mykolaiv provided for the shipment of the largest volume of staple grains in July-August 2020/21 — 2.45 mln t, the port of Pivdenny 1.70 mln t and Chernomorsk 1.51 mln t.

Previously reported that in the first two months of 2020/21(July-August) about 2.2 mln t of barley were exported from Ukraine, 8% more YoY.
