Grains stood second-largest export commodity group in January

Ukraine's trade turnover with its partners in January 2021 aggregated USD 8.14 bln, USD 140 mln less YoY (January 2020: USD 8.28 bln).

"In January 2021, Ukraine imported USD 4.2 bln worth of commodities (imports increased by USD 87 mln or 2% YoY). The country exported USD 3.9 bln worth of goods (exports decreased by USD 227 mln or 5% YoY). The balance(The net sum of a country’s exports and imports of goods without taking into account all financial transfers, investments and other financial components.) is negative USD 284 mln," the State Customs Service of Ukraine reports.

The top three exported from Ukraine products in January:

  • ferrous metals: USD 746 mln
  • grains: USD 562 mln
  • ore: USD 517 mln

Export markets:

  • China: USD 515 mln
  • Poland: USD 296 mln
  • Turkey: USD 293 mln

Agricultural commodities export from Ukraine in January 2021 stood at USD 3.93 bln, 5.6% or USD 270 mln less YoY.

As of Feb. 1, staple grains export shipment from Ukraine made up 28.78 mln t, 21.3% lower YoY.
