Sunflower stocks fell by 31% YoY: state statistics

Sunflower reserves stood at 3.62 mln t (Mar 1, 2020: 5.23 mln t) or 31% lower, including 1.83 mln t stored by agricultural producers, and 1.79 mln t at enterprises engaged in storage and processing, the State Statistics Service data show.

Grains and pulses stocks in Ukraine as of March 1 dropped to 15.88 mln t, 11% or 2 mln t lower YoY (17.88 mln t).

Soybean stocks in Ukraine as of Mar 1, dropped by 15% YoY to 894.5 thou. t. On the reporting date last year, soybean stocks totalled 1.05 mln t. Agricultural enterprises stored 603.3 thou. t. Enterprises specializing in processing and storage kept 291.2 thou. t of the oilseed crop.

Rapeseed stocks reduced by 42% to 57.4 thou. t (Mar 1, 2020: 99.7 thou. t): 10.1 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 47.3 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.

Wheat stocks as of the reporting date decreased by 9% to 4.56 mln t. At the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, grain reserves amounted to 1.39 mln t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 3.16 mln t.

Under the statistical data, corn stocks were 7% lower from last year's and amounted to 9.9 mln t (Mar 1, 2020: 10.68 mln t), including 5.56 mln t accumulated by agricultural producers, at enterprises engaged in storage and processing 4.35 mln t.

Barley stocks in Ukraine in the reporting period reduced by 48% from last year's and amounted to 820 thou. t: at the enterprises engaged in storage and processing, stocks of barley amounted to 215 thou. t, and at agricultural producers' facilities 605 thou. t.

Rye stocks grew by 1.9x and made up 156 thou. t: 68.8 thou. t at specialized storage facilities and 87.2 thou. t at agricultural producers' storages.

As of December 14, 2020, agriproducers in Ukraine harvested 83.8 mln t of main crops on 24.1 mln ha, of which grains and legumes total 65.4 mln t harvested on 15.3 mln ha, making up 99% of the planned areas.
